~ Welcome to The Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram @textiletrunk ~ ~ This lovely valance belongs to a large curtain set from France from c 1910 ~ When I saw these I instantly thought of Marie Antoinette ! ~ ( I have the matching curtains, please search my store for the word " Marie " to see them ) ~This textile was hung at the top of the curtain, behind a ceil de lit. The front is a silk and cotton blend, woven fabric and there is a cotton interlining. This piece is backed in a natural cotton. This piece would be lovely used as a wall hanging, curtain valance etc or repurposed into pillows etc! ( please see condition below) ~ I found 5 of these together with the curtains and I'm selling them individually ! They each have signs of time and use so I'm selling them in my Sale : Take it and Make it store category, just moving them on to someone that will enjoy them! I photographed the valance that was in the least good condition ~ Please see below for condition details!! ~*~ MEASUREMENTS: Approximately 85 inches by 23 inches ~ CONDITION: This textile has been left in as found, not freshly laundered condition ~ This panel is mottled in tones ( please see photographs) This panel is in the least good condition of them all as it has the small stains ~ Please use the zoom feature to view the condition) however, none of the others do, but I'm selling them all at the price of the least good piece! ~ There are some small rust stains at the top where it was once nailed to the ciel de lit ~ there is heavy fading. You can see the line at the top where it was protected from the environment and below it has age and use marks ~ I would recommend only dry cleaning this piece ~ it's ideal for making pillows etc ~ All condition of this piece is taken into account in the price ~*~ Inventory : ETM 12
